Laser Hair Removal

Laser hair removal passes a beam of light through the skin to the hair follicle. The follicle absorbs the heat, and future growth is inhibited. What patients notice first is how little it hurts.

We treat with the Alma Soprano XL — a diode platform that heats gradually rather than in a single aggressive pulse, which is what makes it comfortable enough to treat large areas in one sitting, and safe across the full range of skin tones we see in Miami.

Areas are treated in a course of sessions, spaced to catch hair in its active growth phase. Most patients see meaningful reduction well before the course is finished.

  • Small areas — lip, chin, underarms, bikini line
  • Extended areas — legs, back, chest, full bikini
  • Combination packages — upper body, lower body
  • Full body and head-to-toe

We treat patients from across Miami-Dade — Miami, Coconut Grove, South Miami, Brickell, Pinecrest and the surrounding neighbourhoods — at 806 South Douglas Road, Suite #101 in Coral Gables. Consultations are free.

Questions

Laser Hair Removal — common questions.

Does laser hair removal hurt?

Far less than most people expect. The Soprano platform heats the follicle gradually rather than in one aggressive pulse, which is what makes it comfortable enough to treat a large area like a full back or both legs in a single sitting. Most patients describe it as warm rather than sharp.

Does it work on darker skin?

Yes. Miami skin covers the full Fitzpatrick range and the platform we use is built for that. What matters is that the settings are chosen for your skin, which is exactly what the consultation is for. Any clinic that quotes you settings before seeing your skin is guessing.

How many sessions will I need?

It depends on the area, your hair type and your hormones, because the laser only affects hair that is in its active growth phase. We will give you an honest range at consultation rather than a number designed to get you into the chair.

Can I have it done in summer?

Yes, with care. Recently tanned skin changes how the laser behaves, so we will ask you to stay out of direct sun and off sunbeds in the run-up. In Florida that is the single most common reason a session gets rescheduled.

What do I need to do before my appointment?

Shave the area the day before — do not wax, pluck or use depilatory cream, because the laser needs the follicle intact to work. Come with clean skin and no lotion or deodorant on the area.
